Juraj Karpiš is co-founder and chairman of the board of the most-cited Slovak economic think-tank INESS. He focuses on monetary matters and the financial system. Before founding INESS in 2005 he worked in domestic and foreign financial institutions. As Chairman of the board and analyst of INESS he served as an external expert for private equity firms, investment companies and World Bank. In the year 2011 he was a Member of the advisory board of the Minister of Finance working on changes in tax policy, public finance and business environment. In 2015 he published an economic bestseller about the monetary system and financial crisis – Bad Money. In the book he discussed also the issue of cryptocurrencies and their role in transforming current financial system. He follows the cryptocurrencies-sector and studies its influence on the evolution of monetary systems.
